Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and He will help you.

There are days when my head is swimming with too many details: the kids’ schedules, the grocery list, the laundry, the phone calls to return and don’t even get me started on the amount of emails that have stacked up. Perhaps you feel the same way. Your list may be a little different, but your brain is swirling with minutia just the same. The practical side of us says, “Simply make a list of what needs to get done and then do it.” And that is important, but also keep in mind the Lord says, “Commit your work to Me and I will help you.”
As we commit our day to the Lord through prayer, He helps us order our steps. Some things are necessary and some things can wait, and we need His guidance and discernment to know the difference. As we lay even the smallest details of our day before the Lord, he directs our path. To delight in Him means we find our enjoyment in Him. He becomes our heart’s desire. As moms, we can delight in His presence all day long. What a beautiful way to walk through the day! Let’s commit our work to him and delight in His presence.

Prayer: "Praise you God most high, maker of Heaven and Earth. You know the path I need to take. You know the way that is best for me to go. I want to look to you for guidance and direction. I give you my list of to do’s today. Show me what is necessary, help me to be wise. Most importantly help me to be thoughtful of others and love them as you love me. In Jesus’s Name, Amen."
